Thank You Donors and Partners for a Successful 2024!

Donations to Summer Together are gratefully accepted via Long Island Jobs With Justice (LIJWJ), our fiscal sponsor.  Please click the “Donate” button, where you will find instructions on how to donate online or mail a check.

Summer Together is possible because of our tireless unpaid volunteers, a host of generous individual donations , and the support of the Ellen and Richard Fox Charitable Fund, the Kiwanis Club of Manhasset-Port Washington, Port Washington Giving Circle, the St. Stephen's Church parish community, the Daniel Gale Foundation and Girl Scout Troop 443.

Thank you all for your generosity!

We worked with our community advisors (Parent Resource Center, Our Lady of Fatima, St. Peter's, and the Port Washington Public Library), as well as with guidance counselors at the elementary schools and Weber Middle School, to identify and fund 108 placements at local day camps for Port children (most attended for two weeks and some even more). The participating camps were Bach To Rock, Camp Invention, FAST Sports Camp at PAL, Language Anywhere, the Nassau County Museum of Art, PYA, the Science Museum of Long Island and Unlimited Sports Action. We are grateful for the participation of these wonderful camps, many of whom offered discounted rates and, in some cases, full scholarships.

The children greatly enjoyed their camp experiences with their peers, with one parent writing: : "Many thanks to the wonderful team that works to make this possible, my children loved it, they were eager to go day by day and didn't want the time to end.” Please see photos below.

We also are happy to report on results from the fee-reduction program for income-eligible families at Manorhaven Pool, which came about because of a proposal presented by Summer Together to TONH Councilwoman Mariann Dalimonte several years ago. Thanks to Mariann, qualified families can obtain a seasonal pass at a 60% reduced price. We believe this is the first program of its kind on Long Island.  This summer, 209 families participated.

Your support of Summer Together is making a big difference in the lives of local families.

Thank you!
